About the event
The Kite Festival in Corralejo is one of the oldest and most famous kite festivals in the Canary Islands and was founded in 1987 by a group of passionate kite flyers. The natural reserve of Corralejo dunes with their constant and strong winds provides ideal conditions for spectacular kite performances. In addition to the main program in the dunes, a special event takes place on Thursdays on the beach of La Concha in El Cotillo as part of the festival. Professionals and amateurs of all ages are welcome to experience the colorful action. Admission is free and the festival is suitable for all ages.
Where: The dragons fly over the Grandes Playas de Corralejo in the Dunes Natural Park; individual events also take place in El Cotillo. Last year, there was an additional drone show at Muellito de Corralejo on two evenings at 21:30. Admission is free and is organized by the municipality of La Oliva. We will add the exact program for 2026 as soon as it is published.
